“Climate change is one of the most important challenges we currently face as a city and as a society.”
- Mike McGinn
Mike McGinn has been a pioneer for municipal climate action. Under his leadership in 2012, Seattle became the first North American city to join the growing Fossil Free divestment movement. McGinn also helped launch 350.org's 21-city "Do the Math" tour, connecting the dots between extreme weather, climate change, and the fossil fuel industry.
As part of the Vancouver Climate Risk Forum, McGinn joins Tzeporah Berman for a conversation about taking leadership on climate risk. They will discuss the impact climate change and unburnable carbon reserves will have on our municipal and institutional investments and pension and retirement savings.
This event is a free, public keynote for those interested in fossil fuel divestment, climate risk, and the public investment needed to transition to a post-carbon society.
