About the event

“One of the coolest documents in the Vancouver archives is the 1912 Goad’s Atlas of the City of Vancouver and Surrounding Municipalities.” - John Mackie Vancouver Sun June 2015.

Friends of the Vancouver City Archives invites you to attend
The Year of the Map - From Archives to Internet

Learn about a variety of historic maps at the Vancouver Archives and some of the innovative projects that are making them newly available to the public. More than just a blast from the past, these maps provide an amazing view on where we lived, worked and played, and give a glimpse into how we’ve developed into the modern city we know today. Presented by Digital Archivist Sharon Walz and Digital Conservator Sue Bigelow.
Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.
