Free Event for youth 13-18.

What if Vancouver had 1 million more people? What if sea levels rise? How would you design a city to meet these needs? Join us on June 27 and learn how urban design intersects with building climate resilient future.

This event has it all! You will:

  • Broaden your knowledge by learning how buildings remain standing during natural disasters and what kind of innovative solutions exist within the realm of urban design.
  • Engage with experts building adaptable structures for our changing climate and working with their communities to conserve and restore forests, wetlands and other ecosystems.
  • Gain insight into sustainable practice, smart technologies, and community engagement.

You'll get to have some fun:

  • Create a Lego city
  • Build your dream design and see how well it survives
  • Ask our experts all your burning questions, like: Do cows really produce more methane than the entire US Oil industry? Why is the sewer not next to the library? Will potatoes really be extinct for our next generation?

This SWEET event is a GenAction initiative, presented by Odlum Brown, and supported by the Government of Canada and SAP
