About the event

Calling all changemakers and budding social entrepreneurs!

Do you have an idea or a social venture, project, or a mission-centred business to make this world

a better place? Are you looking to contribute meaningfully to community with your work? Curious

about social enterprise and social innovation?

Join Groundswell's Info Session and discover more!

---

Groundswell is a non-profit school for social entrepreneurs; providing alternative education to

support the creation of meaningful livelihoods and social ventures. The program offers community-
based training and mentorship that focus on the individual (you!), giving you the skills, community,

and support you need to create your own values-based livelihood.

Create purpose-filled work for yourself and surround yourself with a diverse community of values-
centred, heart-led entrepreneurs!

Among the projects and social ventures that came out of Groundswell's social venture program:

• Wood Shop Coop (woodshop.coop) - A workers' cooperative that makes quality products out of

upcycled wood at a reasonable price.

• Another Space (anotherspace.ca) - An innovative arts-based wellness studio in East Vancouver;

a dedicated space for artists, wellness practitioners and community members to express their

creativity through movement, arts, crafts and community connection.

• The Good Food Project (thegoodfoodproject.ca) - Delivering community food programming to

provide the skills, tools, and support you need to make fresh and flavourful food a part of your

everyday life.

• Vancouver Fix-it Collective (vanfixit.tumblr.com) - A place where we fix vs throw away, where we

build community and empower each other.

• The Nettle's Guild (nettlesguild.coop) - Permaculture inspired courses, custom garden builds and

perennial nursery.

• BC Centre for New Farmers (BCCNF.org) - Growing farmers on 300 acres of fertile land in the

Nicola Valley.

• Rebel Soup (rebelsoup.ca) - Reducing food waste, one bowl of soup at a time.
