About the event

DISCOVERY WALK

Join in on this hot topic as we enter into summer and the wildfire season! Learn about the place of fire in BC’s forest ecosystems and the historical burns that have blazed through our own Stanley Park. What makes certain fire events particularly dangerous and others healthy? How are they managed by professionals, and how do they affect communities near and far? And why do fires in our region seem to be getting more intense year after year?

Forestry consultant Bruce Blackwell enlightens us on these and more in this guided walk through the Park. We meet at Second Beach and will be walking around 4 km through forest trails.
