About the event

Qualitative data gathered from this event will be shared with Translink in a report that will contribute to the Transport 2050 strategic plan on roads, transit and bikeways for the Metro Vancouver region for the next 30 years. This event is hosted as part of the Translink Youth Advisory council initiative. Personal information of participants will not be shared with translink.

What's going on? Translink is cooking up a plan that will shape what our roads, bike routes, trains, busses (and hovercrafts) are built over the next 30 years.

Who should attend? You, a person under the age of 30 today, will be paying for and using this more than anyone else. This focus group is part of a series of strategic engagements aimed at gathering qualitative input on where your priorities lie to supplement the survey that is being shared far and wide. Dinner will be provided!

At the session we will explore questions like:

  • Where do you see yourself living in 2040? What kind of transit and roads will you need to make that comfortable?

  • How do you define livability?

  • In what ways do you think translik should balance transit innovation with affordability?

  • Imaging density in Vancouver continues to increase at the rate it has over the past 5 years. What challenges do you think you will be facing in 15 years? How can these challenges be prevented?

Does this require expertise? Participants don't need a background in urban planning or sociology. Just insight and the ability to think on a slightly meta, futuristic scale. This event is targeted at the smartest and most insightful people that Ava knows and is by invitation only. If you have a friend you'd like to nominate to attend, or if you have any dietary restrictions, please send me a note at avanasiri@outlook.com

Who is funding? Translink has provided funds for dinner and snacks.
