About the event

Author, artist and Vancouver observer, Michael Kluckner presents another informative, illustrated historical overview of one of the hot topics in contemporary Vancouver – gentrification. His survey will range from the ‘degentrification’ decades and low property values before the 1960s to the urban-renewal era and the beginnings of gentrification in Strathcona and Kitsilano in the 1970s and of the modern trend toward fixing up deteriorated old buildings in the city’s vintage neighbourhoods. Reservations by Friday, September 26, noon. Presented in cooperation with the Vancouver Heritage Foundation.

Menu: Tiger Prawn Marinated with Cilantro and Tomato Concasse, Free Range Chicken Breast “Cordon Bleu” Seasonal Vegetables, Creamy Mashed Potato, Vanilla Profiteroles and Chocolate Sauce, Coffee/Tea.
