This is the third in a series of six introductory workshops designed to help frame the conversations in the False Creek Flats planning process. These workshops will help identify the big questions that we need to address for a successful plan, as well as begin to brainstorm potential solutions to the challenges and opportunities in the area.

No narrative has defined the history of the False Creek Flats as clearly as transportation.
Filled in to create rail termini, the Flats history has long been defined by the transportation infrastructure that dissects it. Home to numerous rail yards, connections have long been focused at the national scale.
As the economy shifts, it is increasingly clear that we need to retain these national linkages. At the same time, we need to improve the localized road and bike connections that join the emerging businesses, which are less focused on logistics and wholesaling and more focused on the markets downtown.
How do we ensure that we retain the ability to move goods within and to markets beyond, while at the same time ensuring that we can connect people with more active modes of travel to reduce the need to drive into the Flats for the local employee?
What opportunities are there to better connect and move the things that matter in the False Creek Flats?
