About the event

Why are wealthy landowners allowed to block badly-needed new homes in their private enclaves? What role should higher levels of government play in regional land use and transportation decisions? How do we build a coalition dedicated to better transit and more walkable, more affordable communities? State Senator Scott Wiener will share his experiences in California, where he works to make housing more abundant and affordable, invest in our transportation systems, meaningfully address climate change and the impacts of drought, and to reduce California’s alarmingly high poverty rate.
