About the event

2-3 pm: Keynote by Dr. Milena Droumeva: "Mobilities and Livabilities: Sounding out the Livable City" Anvil Centre, room 417

3:30-5:30 pm: Poster Presentations "Movement and Mobilities" Anvil Centre 4th floor foyer accompanied with coffee and snacks.

The third annual “Livable Cities” symposium brings together interdisciplinary research, creative inquiry and city planning methods to explore current city development and projects through sensory perspectives. Hosted by the City of New Westminster and the Anvil Centre, this half-day symposium will be part of Innovation Week 2018 (Feb 23-March 3) with the theme of "Transportation/Mobilities." Livable Cities will feature various disciplinary approaches, including architecture, community development, transportation, and socio-cultural issues to explore livability. As an emergent urban community, New Westminster presents a unique opportunity to engage with city planning strategies, urban densification, and the impact of innovation on local urban environments.
