About the event

People who bike and walk in a city tend to know it more intimately - we're moving at a pace conducive to connections and without a heavy metal barrier around us. Making cities better for people to bike in typically makes cities better to walk in and vice versa. Let's explore these connections.

Moderator

Lisa Slakov
Lisa Slakov has been exploring cities and wilderness areas all her life and has many thoughts on what makes them great. Having seen how most of the best loved cities in the world are people-oriented in their public spaces and plans for getting around, Lisa has been working to help Vancouver be even more engaging through great activities and movement in our public spaces. She has focused on active transportation - biking, walking, running, hopping - in Vancouver for years. To this end, she has been very involved with Active to School campaigns, HUB Cycling and is on a city citizen advisory group, the Active Transportation Policy Council.
